Gilbert And Sullivan Playing Cards - Blue Back
The beautifully presented Gilbert and Sullivan playing cards highlight the collaboration between these two men on the creation of fourteen comic operas between 1871-1896. Gilbert and Sullivan were best known for H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado.
Artist Don Jack has failthfully recreated these familiar looking figures from programme covers, posters and cigarette cards by the illustrator H.M Brock (1875-1960). This deck of increasingly rare playing cards is backed with a blue design.
